Two or three strands of Embroidery thread, flattened between the fingers fingers, fit easily through the elongated eye.
The Size 7 Embroidery/Wool Needle is the longest of all the Embroidery needles. Because of its extra length, the Size 7 is excellent for wool applique. It reaches effortlessly through several layers of wool for ease of stitching.
